SW Mo. man bound over for trial in stabbing death

PINEVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A 30-year-old southwest Missouri man has been ordered to stand trial in a fatal stabbing.

The Joplin Globe (http://bit.ly/1aXAQDW ) reports that a judge found enough evidence this week to order Boyd Marcum to stand trial on a second-degree murder charge in last month's killing of 29-year-old Kevin Anderson.

Officers found Anderson lying on a porch in September bleeding from a chest wound. Officer Seth Daniels testified that that Marcum approached him, confessed to using a pocketknife in the stabbing and handed over the weapon.

Marcum told the officer that Anderson grabbed him by the throat during a dispute. Marcum said he couldn't breathe, so he pulled his pocketknife out with his free hand and stabbed Anderson once. Marcum told Daniels that he didn't mean to hurt Anderson so badly.
