PITTSBURGH (AP) - Sidney Crosby scored with 1:16 remaining to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders on Friday night.
Crosby's 12th goal of the season was also the 250th of his career, and the Penguins' captain also had an assist. Chris Kunitz had two goals and an assist, Evgeni Malkin had a goal and two assists, and James Neal added two assists.
Jeff Zatkoff, playing for the first time since Nov. 2, stopped 32 shots in his fourth NHL start.
Thomas Vanek scored twice for the Islanders in his first game after missing five with an upper-body injury. Vanek has three goals and two assists with New York since being acquired from Buffalo in October. Colin McDonald also got his second of the season for the Islanders.
Kevin Poulin made 30 saves for the Islanders.
DUCKS 1, LIGHTNING 0, OT
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Ryan Getzlaf scored with 5.2 seconds left in overtime and Jonas Hiller made 31 saves in an emergency start to earn his 18th career shutout as Anaheim blanked Tampa Bay.
Viktor Fasth was scheduled to start in goal for the Ducks, but he sustained a lower-body injury during warmups. Hiller got the call and wound up with his second shutout of the season.
The Ducks put 42 shots on Ben Bishop, who was magnificent right to the end. Getzlaf carried the puck into the Tampa Bay zone and took a wrist shot that glanced off the bottom of Bishop's arm, but defenseman Sami Salo wasn't able to sweep away the loose puck and it dribbled across the goal line before Bishop could reach back for it. The goal was Getzlaf's 13th.
The Lightning lost the first three games of this western trip in regulation. The point they got out of this one prevented what would have been only the third time in club history that they failed to get a single standings point during a trip of four or more games.
CANADIENS 3, CAPITALS 2
WASHINGTON (AP) - David Desharnais scored his long-awaited first goal of the season, and Montreal took an early three-goal lead and survived two goals from Washington's Alex Ovechkin.
Desharnais, whose scoring drought even attracted the attention of Montreal's new mayor, perched in front of the net to redirect Josh Gorges' drive in the first period. The goal stood after a video review to determine whether Desharnais had scored with a high stick.
Travis Moen also scored his first of the season, and Daniel Briere added a goal for the Canadiens, who have won two straight.
Ovechkin scored on a last first-period power play and again in the third period to give him an NHL-leading 19 goals.
CANUCKS 6, BLUE JACKETS 2
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Henrik Sedin scored twice and twin brother Daniel Sedin had a goal and two assists as Vancouver beat Columbus.
Alex Edler, Zack Kassian, and Jeremy Welsh - with his first NHL goal - also scored as the Canucks snapped a five-game losing streak and handed Columbus its fifth loss in seven games.
Vancouver had scored only six goals over its previous five games - and was held to one goal in four of them. Daniel Sedin's points snapped a six-game drought - his first such streak since 2002-03.
Roberto Luongo only had to make 14 saves as Vancouver outshot Columbus 35-16.
Matt Calvert and Artem Anisimov scored for the Blue Jackets, and Sergei Bobrovsky had 29 saves.
FLAMES 4, PANTHERS 3, SO
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Sean Monahan scored in the sixth round of a shootout to lift Calgary over Florida.
Joe Colborne had a goal and an assist in regulation for his first multipoint game with the Flames since being acquired from Toronto in the offseason. Sven Baertschi and Blair Jones also scored for Calgary, which has secured at least one point in three straight games (2-0-1).
Flames goalie Reto Berra stopped 23 shots while playing in his sixth consecutive game. After giving up goals to Brad Boyes and Tomas Fleischmann earlier in the shootout, Berra stopped Nick Bjugstad in the sixth round to preserve the victory.
Jiri Hudler and Michael Cammalleri also scored in the shootout for Calgary.
Tom Gilbert, Jimmy Hayes and Marcel Goc scored in regulation for the Panthers, who finished their road at 2-2-1. Tim Thomas, who played his eighth straight game, made 21 saves.
