Local man gets probation for drugs, break-in

A Jefferson City man has been placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to breaking into a Cole County home in June and stealing jewelry.

Aaron Boehm, 33, of 7504 Helias Spur, was charged with second-degree burglary, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

He must also complete the county's alternative court program.

A Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement shows the crime took place at a residence in the 4000 block of Route CC.

A neighbor saw a vehicle at the residence where the break-in occurred, and it was later determined that the neighbor saw Boehm.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for Boehm's residence and found the items that had been stolen.

Boehm did admit to going into the residence and taking the items that were reported stolen. He also admitted to burying the stolen items in his yard.

During the serving of the search warrant, deputies found a small amount of methamphetamine, a digital scale, along with several small baggies commonly used to package methamphetamine for sale.
