Railroaders hosting holiday trip to Kansas City

The American Association of Railroaders is sponsoring a holiday trip Dec. 2 and 3 from St. Louis to Kansas City on Amtrak.

The tour will depart at 9:15 a.m. Dec. 2 from Kirkwood, stop in Washington at 10:15 a.m. and in Jefferson City at 11:30 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served after each departure.

Lodging in Kansas City will be at the Westin Crown Center. An evening shuttle bus will transport people to the Country Club Plaza and a second location to view the holiday lights.

Tuesday is a free day for shopping, sightseeing and relaxing.

The St. Louis-bound train will depart Tuesday afternoon making stops in Jefferson City at 7:15 p.m.; Washington at 8:30 p.m.; and Kirkwood at 9 p.m.

Cost per person is $299 which includes two to a room, round-trip train travel, continental breakfast and evening shuttle. The rate for singles in a room is $369.
