COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Rock Bridge Bruins scored two goals in the first 10 minutes Tuesday night and went on to post a 4-0 victory against the Jefferson City Jays in Class 3 sectional action.
The Bruins, bidding for a fourth consecutive trip to the Final Four, added their third goal of the contest on a corner kick midway through the opening half.
Rock Bridge, ranked No. 3 in the state by the coaches, closed its scoring with a goal in the second half.
Jefferson City ends its season at 20-7, the most single-season victories in the history of the program. The Jays were No. 6 in the final regular-season state poll.
Rock Bridge (21-4-1) will meet Glendale (16-8-1) in the quarterfinals Saturday. That game will be played in Columbia.
