Jays top Tigers for title, notch history-making 20th win

LEBANON, Mo. - Aaron Crane and Marcus Woodruff combined for four goals and two assists Thursday to lead the Jefferson City Jays to a 4-0 victory against the Waynesville Tigers in the Class 3 District 10 Soccer Tournament title contest.

With the victory, the Jays (20-6) advance to Tuesday's sectional game at Rock Bridge. The Bruins (20-4-1) captured the District 9 title Thursday with a 3-0 win against Hickman.

Rock Bridge edged Jefferson City 1-0 in overtime Oct. 22 in Columbia.

It is the first 20-win season in the history of the Jays program.

Crane and Woodruff both had two goals and one assist, while Brandon Wiler and Nate Luebbert each had an assist for Jefferson City. Alex Hilke and Zach Brooks shared time in goal in Jefferson City's 15th shutout of the season.
