Arrest made in N. California bus passenger set on fire

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Police say a teenager has been arrested on suspicion of setting a man on fire while riding on a bus during rush hour in Oakland.

Oakland Police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson says investigators and Oakland school police officers took a 16-year-old boy into custody Tuesday afternoon.

Watson says the teen is being questioned by investigators. His name has not been released.

The incident occurred when an 18-year-old passenger who was asleep and wearing a kilt-like piece of clothing, was set ablaze by another passenger on the rear of an Alameda-Contra Costa Transit bus Monday evening.

Police say the victim, whose name also has not been released, is hospitalized in stable condition with second- and third-degree burns.
