OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Police say a teenager has been arrested on suspicion of setting a man on fire while riding on a bus during rush hour in Oakland.
Oakland Police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson says investigators and Oakland school police officers took a 16-year-old boy into custody Tuesday afternoon.
Watson says the teen is being questioned by investigators. His name has not been released.
The incident occurred when an 18-year-old passenger who was asleep and wearing a kilt-like piece of clothing, was set ablaze by another passenger on the rear of an Alameda-Contra Costa Transit bus Monday evening.
Police say the victim, whose name also has not been released, is hospitalized in stable condition with second- and third-degree burns.
