Marshall earns honor

HILLSBORO, Ill. — Westminster College coach Jim Marshall was named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year on Saturday.

Marshall earned the honor after the Blue Jays won the championship of Saturday’s conference meet with a total of 47 points. The next-closest squad in the six-team field was Greenville College with 75.

Sarah Koestner (Russellville High School) led the way for the Blue Jays, as she was fourth in the 6K-race in a time of 22:51.81.

Lily Willis (Jefferson City High School) came in ninth (23:43.38) for Westminster.

Koestner was named first-team all-conference, while Willis landed on the second team.
