Lincoln falls to Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. - The Lincoln Blue Tigers kicked off the season with an 85-54 exhibition game loss to Omaha on Saturday.

The Mavericks jumped out to a 39-26 lead at halftime and then outscored the Blue Tigers 46-28 after the break.

Ericka House pumped in a game-high 19 points to lead Omaha to the win.

Jennifer Rosado scored 13 points to lead Lincoln, while Nesha Wright and Jackeya Mitchell added 10 apiece. Lizzie Nessling paced the Blue Tigers in rebounds with seven.

Omaha made 30-of-69 shots from the field (44 percent) and 16-of-21 from the line (76 percent). Lincoln, meanwhile, made just 19-of-56 from the floor (34 percent) and 10-of-18 (56 percent) from the charity stripe.

The Blue Tigers had 19 turnovers to just 11 for the Mavericks.

Lincoln opens the regular season Friday and Saturday in the Central Methodist Eagles Classic. The Blue Tigers play at 8 p.m. Friday against Trinity International before taking on Hannibal-LaGrange at 1 p.m. Saturday.
