Lady Crusaders win district cross country title

Helias bound for State

MOBERLY, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders placed four runners in the top 10 Saturday on their way to claiming the Class 3 District 5 Cross Country team title.

Helias finished with 30 points to take top honors. Warrensburg was second with 62.

Kaitlyn Shea led the Helias district foursome, finishing second.

Kayla Yanskey was third, Baylee Francka fourth and Lanie Hentges 10th for the Lady Crusaders.

The Lady Crusaders qualified for this week's Class 3 state meet at the Oak Hills Golf Center.

The Class 3 girls race is the final one Saturday, slated for a 1:05 p.m. start.

On the boys side, the Crusaders finished third with a team score of 74.

Warrensburg was first with 43, while Moberly took the other state spot with 67. The top two teams advance to state.

Helias will have two individuals running at noon Saturday at Oak Hills after Evan Block was ninth and Matthew Lorang 14th at districts Saturday.
