A Tipton motorcyclist and his passenger suffered serious and moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Morgan County.
The accident happened at 2:57 p.m. on Highway 52 near Big Rock Road.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Thomas Eslahi, 27, was following Jackson Hart’s S-10 pickup and a second vehicle, when Eslahi attempted to pass both vehicles. Eslahi struck Hart’s truck as Hart was trying to turn left into a private drive.
Hart, 33, of Eldon, was not injured.
Eslahi was air-lifted to University Hospital in Columbia where he remains in fair condition. According to the patrol, Eslahi’s passenger — Jessica Sallin, 26, of Tipton — was transported by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center. Her condition is unknown.
Both Eslahi and Sallin were wearing helmets.
In another accident, two Iberia teenagers suffered injuries in a single-vehicle wreck in Miller County Sunday.
The wreck happened at 3:45 p.m. at Route EE, about 500 feet east of Oakbrier Lane.
According to the patrol, the wreck happened when Dakota Bell, 17, traveled off the left side of the road, struck a road sign and flew into the air over a creek. His vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, then struck a wall and the ground before overturning and striking a tree.
Bell was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital where he was treated and released. According to the patrol, his passenger, 13-year-old Michael Spencer, was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia. Spencer’s condition is not known.
