MONTREAL (AP) - Marco Di Vaio scored three goals in the opening 32 minutes to lead the Montreal Impact to a 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Union on a wet, chilly Saturday night.
Andrew Wenger and rookie Blake Smith each added their first goals of the season for the Impact (7-2-2), who remained unbeaten at home at 5-0-1.
Antoine Hoppenot, Sebastien Le Toux and Jack McInerney scored for the Union (5-5-3).
The 20-year-old McInerney entered the game with a league-leading eight goals and left it tied at the top with 36-year-old Di Vaio.
Justin Mapp had a pair of assists for Montreal.
Di Vaio had a shot at a fourth goal in the opening half but put a left-footed shot just over the crossbar in the 38th.
FC DALLAS 1, EARTHQUAKES 0
FRISCO, Texas (AP) - Fabian Castillo scored in the 33rd minute and Raul Fernandez made six saves for his fifth shutout of the season, leading FC Dallas to a win over San Jose.
With Dallas clinging to the one-goal lead, San Jose peppered Fernandez over the final 13 minutes, forcing him to make five saves, but was unable to break through.
MLS-leading Dallas (8-2-3), which had its unbeaten streak snapped at nine games last weekend with a 4-2 loss at Seattle, is 7-0-1 at home this season - outscoring opponents 13-4.
San Jose (3-5-6) has only one victory in its last 10 matches and is winless in six road games this season.
TIMBERS 2, D.C. UNITED 0
WASHINGTON (AP) - Rodney Wallace scored in the 21st minute and Darlington Nagbe added another goal in the second half, lifting Portland to a win over D.C. United.
Portland (5-1-7) beat United for the first time in four meetings since the club joined MLS in 2011, extending its club-record unbeaten streak to 11 games. The Timbers remain the only undefeated MLS team on the road this season
United (1-9-2) is now winless in its last 10 games - matching a club record set in 2002 - and failed to score for the seventh time in 12 games.
D.C. was able to put only two shots on goal.
FIRE 1, REAL SALT LAKE 1, DRAW
SANDY, Utah (AP) - Quincy Amarikwa scored in the 84th minute to counter a goal from Alvaro Saborio in the 78th and Chicago played Real Salt Lake to a draw.
The Fire (2-7-2) snapped a three-match losing streak and improved to 3-2-3 all-time in Utah. Chicago is the only MLS club with a winning road record against Salt Lake (6-5-3).
Saborio scored a few minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute for Robbie Findley. Playing for the first time in a month, Saborio headed home a crossing pass to put Salt Lake up 1-0.
The Fire wasted no time stepping up on the other end, breaking a scoreless drought of 361 minutes with Amarikwa's goal. Chicago hadn't scored since a 1-0 victory over Columbus on April 20th.
REVOLUTION 2, TORONTO FC 0
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Diego Fagundez extended his scoring streak to three matches, netting his fourth goal of the season to lead New England over Toronto FC.
The 18-year old Fagundez, who hails from the Boston suburb of Leominster, put the Revolution in front in the 23rd minute, one-timing a right-footed shot off the right wing after taking a long cross from the left side by Chris Tierney.
In stoppage time, Juan Agudelo tipped in a cross along the left goal line off a pass from Saer Sene in the 93rd for New England (4-4-4), which is unbeaten in its last three matches at 2-0-1.
Toronto (1-7-4) lost its fifth straight and is winless in its last 10 matches (0-6-4).
RAPIDS 2, CHIVAS USA 0
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) - Atiba Harris scored in the 11th minute to help Colorado extend its unbeaten streak to five games with a win over Chivas USA.
Nathan Sturgis added a late goal for the Rapids (5-4-4), who are 3-0-2 during the streak.
The Rapids have not lost in six home games against Chivas and have eight wins and two ties in their last 10 against the Los Angeles club since March 21, 2009.
Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin is 5-2-4 with five shutouts since taking over for injured Matt Pickens, who is out several months because of a broken forearm.
Chivas (3-6-2) has been outscored 13-1 in four straight losses.
