A man was arrested Wednesday after a strong armed robbery in Jefferson City.
The suspect, Brian Carpenter, 31, was charged with felony stealing and possession of a controlled substance.
He also had three outstanding warrants.
Police reports show that at about 4 p.m. officers were dispatched to Kohl's, 715 Stoneridge Parkway, for a shoplifting in progress.
According to the caller, Carpenter had concealed T-shirts in his shorts and was confronted by employees and asked to return.
Carpenter refused to comply and assaulted the employees by pushing them. The employees were able to take Carpenter to the ground and detain him for police.
Officers arrived shortly thereafter and took Carpenter into custody.
