Callaway deputies arrest fugitive

Callaway County deputies arrested a fugitive they stopped for a traffic violation Wednesday between Holts Summit and Tebbetts.

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office reported a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 3400 block of County Road 4006 at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday.

Deputies reported the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Levi Nelson McDonald, was deceptive and provided a false name.

With the assistance of the Callaway County Jail, deputies checked previous jail booking photographs and determined McDonald was the driver of the vehicle.

He had four pending arrest warrants, including a probation violation dated in October 2012 from Cole County.

McDonald was arrested on the probation violation from Cole County and taken to Callaway County Jail where he is held without bond for Cole County authorities.
