Your Opinion: Retain regional postal facility

Dear Editor:

The U.S. Postal Service wants to close the Mid-Missouri Processing and Distribution Center at Columbia Regional Airport.

Columbia Regional received an award for being ranked number one in the U.S. Postal Service. St. Louis scored the lowest in the district. It can take three to five days longer for mail through them. We now have next day delivery.

Many rural people get medicine mailed to them. I’m afraid the people most hurt by this probably don’t even know this is going on.

I read that many businesses in St. Louis drive many miles to keep their advertisements from going through the St. Louis distribution center.

Only Congress can stop this so please call or write your congressman, senators or representatives.
