Your Opinion: Outraged by recent events

Dear Editor:

I am outraged that Speaker Boehner is on TV stating that he wants to know who is going to jail over the IRS issue, but I do not recall him asking the same question during the housing collapse or the near collapse of our banking system.

Actually, I am outraged that political groups can even be considered non-profit and thus, tax-exempt.

I am outraged because, only during the wee hours of the morning, CBS news reported, that some legislators in Washington have decided to again relax banking regulations, thus opening them up to the same problems that got us into trouble before! And no one went to jail.

I am outraged that we have allowed our government to borrow money from our Social Security funds and not pay us back.

I am outraged that apparently it is considered commonplace for the wealthy to hide their money in other countries, thus supporting the other countries' economies and not ours.

I am outraged by the constant assault to my ears and intelligence on TV and radio aimed at deceptively promoting new energy policies or bashing politicians.

I am outraged that there are those on our airwaves saying that we are not, and should not be, a democracy.

And, that the good, God-fearing democracy advocates in our citizenry are not, or can not afford to be, as loud and outspoken.

I am outraged that corporations can be considered a person.

What good is freedom if we do not have a voice in what happens in our state or nation? And, right now, if we do not have money, we do not have a voice.

I am outraged that campaign finance reform is not a priority, either in our state or in Washington, D.C.
