Missouri Credit Union and KPLA are partnering for the second year to sponsor an Everyday Heroes contest.
A local hero will be recognized on July 4 as part of the annual fireworks display at the Salute to America event.
Local residents are asked to nominate heroes they believe deserve the award. Nominations are open to people of all ages and industries.
Nominations can be made at www.kpla.com from May 24 to June 9.
The winner will be selected by a committee of community leaders and receive a free hotel stay and dinner at DoubleTree; a meet-and-greet with a featured band and a special award on July 4. Missouri Credit Union will also donate $1,000 to the charity of the winner's choice.
