Missouri softball to host Regional

The Missouri Tigers and the rest of the Southeastern Conference got plenty of love when it came to Sunday night's selection show for the NCAA Division I Softball Tournament.

The league got a whopping 11 out of 13 teams into the event and seven of them were seeded in the top 16 of the event.

Missouri was one of them, as the Tigers were named the No. 6 national seed. That means Missouri will host a Regional starting Friday in Columbia, and if it advances, would host a Super Regional after that.

The Tigers will open the Regional at 6:30 p.m. Friday against Stony Brook (35-23), while the 4 p.m. game will pit Oregon State (33-22) and Hofstra (43-11).

Missouri is the only team in the Regional that is ranked, although Stony Brook is among those receiving votes.

All of the games in the Regional will be aired on ESPN3
