Sheriff White appointed to privacy committee

Missouri House Speaker Tim Jones announced Friday that Cole County Sheriff Greg White has been appointed to serve on the Bipartisan Investigative Committee on Privacy Protection, the committee Jones formed to investigate allegations the Revenue department violated Missourians' privacy.

"I think it's important that we get to see everything, analyze the data and follow up and publish the results," White said. "I'm going in with an open mind and no preconceived notions."

White said he had not heard how long the investigation will take.

In a statement, Jones said White's "reputation as a hard-working, no-nonsense law enforcement official makes him a perfect fit for this committee, and I look forward to hearing his recommendations about how our state can avoid a similar incident in the future."
