MU falls to Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - It was a night of big innings Friday night, but unfortunately for the Missouri Tigers, Alabama's was bigger.

The Crimson Tide used a seven-run seventh inning to offset Missouri's five-run eight, and captured a 9-7 win in the opener of a three-game series.

Alabama never trailed, getting two runs in the top of the first to account for the only scoring until the seventh.

Eric Anderson (0-3) started and took the loss for Missouri.

The Crimson Tide improved to 30-21 overall and 12-12 in the Southeastern Conference, while Missouri dropped to 15-29 and 7-18.

The teams resume their series at 1 p.m. today.
