Jays tennis falls in district final

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Rock Bridge Bruins struck again Wednesday evening.

The three-time state champs ousted Jefferson City 6-0 in the Class 2 District 9 title match.

David Clausen (1-6, 1-6), David Steinmeyer (1-6, 2-6), Spencer Bone (2-6, 1-6), Isaac Roling (0-6, 0-6), Rex Michitsch (0-6, 1-6) and Dalton Doyle (6-3, 0-6, 2-6) all dropped their matches.

The Jays end the team portion of the season at 13-6. Three of the losses came to Rock Bridge.

Jefferson City will compete in the individual district tournament beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Columbia.
