Fatima splits pair

WESTPHALIA - Fatima was able to jump on Linn in the first inning of Tuesday's game. Even if it was the third inning.

Fatima scored all five of its runs in the third and defeated Linn 5-4 in a game that was halted April 26.

The win clinched the Show-Me Conference title for the Comets.

Only two innings were completed originally, so Monday's game started in the third inning and it didn't take long for Fatima to take advantage.

Patrick Schnieders hit a three-run homer as Fatima had just four hits.

Schnieders also got the win. He allowed four runs on five hits in six innings. He struck out 13. Seth Lehmen picked up the save.

Alec Shoop had a home run for Linn. Ryan Mantle tossed a complete game for the Wildcats as he finished with nine strikeouts and allowed four hits.

Linn (11-5) plays again today at home against Eugene.

The Comets also dropped a 10-2 decision to Rock Bridge later Tuesday.

Lehmen had two hits and took the loss on the mound. He allowed four runs on seven hits in four innings as the Burins clubbed three home runs.

Fatima (17-5) opens district play at 4:30 p.m. Monday against either South Callaway or Warsaw at the Falcon Athletic Complex in Wardsville.
