Blair Oaks wins pair

KAISER - The Blair Oaks Falcons racked up 27 runs in two games Tuesday, claiming easy wins over School of the Osage and California.

In the opener, Blair Oaks scored in every inning in taking a 14-4 decision in 41⁄2 innings from School of the Osage.

Blair Oaks, the home team on the scoreboard despite being on the road in the rescheduled game, scored five times in the first, twice in the second, once in the third and six in the fourth.

Austin Galbraith was the winning pitcher, striking out four in four innings. Logan Gratz pitched the fifth.

Kyler Maxey had three hits and four RBI for the winners, Ryan Abbott added two hits and two RBI, while Daniel Castillo also drove in two runs.

Osage scored two runs in the second and third innings.

In their second game of the day, the Falcons raced out to a 12-0 lead after their first three at-bats and cruised to a 13-1 win over California in a game shortened to five innings due to the run rule.

Maxey and Logan Bax combined on a one-hitter in the victory. Maxey got the win by throwing three hitless innings to start, allowing one earned run on five walks while striking out seven. Bax pitched the last two and gave up one hit while striking out three.

The Falcons pushed across three runs in the first inning, two in the second and seven in the third to grab that early lead.

After California got its only run in the bottom of the third, Blair Oaks got the game's final run in the top of the fifth.

Beau Distler had two hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs for the winners. Castillo, who also had a homer, ended up with two hits and two RBI.

Also for the Falcons, Hayden Haney had two hits and two RBI, Maxey chipped in with two hits and one RBI and Jacob Koelling had one hit and two RBI. Abbott added a pair of hits and Dustin Blomberg had one hit and one RBI.
