Several head to state in Class 2

HANNIBAL - Blair Oaks advanced a pair of golfers to the Class 2 State Golf Tournament during a sectional meet Monday at Norwood Golf Course.

Tanner Elder and Kory Franks both shot a 4-over 76 to finish in a tie for third place.

Blair Oaks didn't advance to state as a team, finishing third with a 348. Palmyra (344) and Macon (346) are the two teams from the sectional that will play for a state title.

Also competing for Blair Oaks were Jordan Eichholz (97), Dylan Burnell (99) and Corbin Singer (103).

Southern Boone's Blake Lammers was the medalist with an even-par 72. His teammate, Walker Kesterson, shot a 74. The Eagles finished fifth with a 356.

Also competing for Southern Boone were Lucas James and Hayden Nichols, who both shot a 105.

Eugene tied with Blair Oaks for thirdplace with a 348. The Eagles also qualified two golfers for state. Ryan Doerhoff placed 10th with an 80 and Drew Geritz took 13th with an 82.

Also competing for Eugene were Jeremy Evers (91), Austin Russell (95) and Cody Shaw (96).

Fatima's Connor Muenks qualified for state with a 78, which was good enough for seventh place.

Two California golfers competed, as Tyler Elliott tied for 35th with a 96 and Curtis Lehman took 50th with a 107.

The Class 2 state championships are May 13-14 at the Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa.
