WENTZVILLE (AP) - An eastern Missouri woman is dead and her son is hospitalized after she apparently shot him before turning the gun on herself.
The shooting in Wentzville was reported around 3:30 p.m. Saturday by the woman's son, who told police his mother had shot him and then shot herself.
Wentzville police officers found the son lying on a driveway. One officer picked him up and carried him to an ambulance about a block away.
His mother was found inside the home, dead from a gunshot wound.
The boy was listed in stable condition in a St. Louis hospital.
Police declined to release his name because he is a juvenile.
