6 people rescued from water in east Missouri

ARNOLD, Mo. (AP) - Water rescue crews pulled six people from river waters in eastern Missouri during the weekend.

Three men who were fishing Sunday in the Meramec River near Arnold had to be rescued when their canoe capsized.

The Rock Community Fire Protection District says the men were in the river about 45 minutes before they were rescued. They were treated and released at a nearby hospital.

KSDK reports (http://on.ksdk.com/11NsPi8 ) three other people were rescued Saturday near Desoto after they drove into water that was covering a road. They were able to escape when the car was swept away and waited in the water until being rescued.
