Fatima wins two

It wasn't your typical doubleheader.

On Wednesday, the Fatima Comets played a regular-season game at home against South Callaway before jetting to Fulton for the championship game of the Fulton Tournament against North Callaway.

Both were wins for Fatima.

Fatima opened in Westphalia with a 10-0 victory in five innings.

Patrick Schnieders picked up the win on the mound by tossing five shutout innings. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Ryan Mebruer went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Tanner Gentges went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The Comets then hopped on a bus for game two.

Fatima took home the Fulton Tournament title with a 12-10 win.

The Comets took a nine-run lead into the bottom of the seventh inning before North Callaway rallied with seven runs to make things interesting.

Seth Lehmen was the winning pitcher, tossing six innings and allowing three runs (zero earned) on two hits while striking out five and walking five.

Brady Weber went 2-for-5, Reid Kesel went 1-for-3 with two RBI, Schnieders went 1-for-3 with three RBI and Lehmen went 2-for-5 with two RBI.

Fatima (15-4) hosts Linn on Saturday, weather permitting.
