Jays fall to Rock Bridge in tennis

COLUMBIA -Jefferson City dropped an 8-1 decision to Rock Bridge.

Sam Johnson picked up the Jays' only win, a 6-0, 6-3 victory in singles action.

Rock Bridge took the rest as David Clausen fell 4-6, 7-5 (4-10 match tiebreaker); David Steinmeyer lost 3-6, 2-6; Spencer Bone lost 1-6, 4-6; Isaac Roling dropped a 1-6, 4-6 decision and Rex Michitsch lost 1-6, 2-6.

Jefferson City lost all three doubles matches as the team of Johnson and Clausen lost 5-7, 4-6; Roling and Bone lost 2-6, 0-6 and Steinmeyer and Dalton Doyle lost 1-6, 0-6.

The Jays (11-5) are back in action at 4 p.m. today at Washington Park.
