Your Opinion: Support school issues

Dear Editor:

I believe we live in a great community. We have problems in this community. We have good people in this community who are willing to sacrifice their time and money to solve problems. We don't always agree with one another about the solutions but I believe, for the most part, people are willing to do their part to solve problems.

We have the opportunity on April 2 to solve problems by voting yes on the bond issue and the tax levy to build a new high school and a new East Elementary school.

We have overcrowding at secondary level of public schools. We have school buildings lacking up to date security. We have local commercial contractors with no work and their laborers drawing unemployment. We can put them to work and we could enhance our higher learning opportunities by bringing Linn State Tech to our community.

I am asking you to be part of the solution. A lot of average citizens in this community have done a lot of work and believe this is a good economical solution to these particular problems. We may not all agree with this solution but I want to be part of this solution. A problem we've been unable to solve since we began trying 20 years ago when the bond issue to build a second high school failed in this community.

I'm asking you to be a part of this solution to enhance the excellence of this community.
