LSU rolls past MU in baseball

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The long ball made it a long night for the Missouri Tigers.

No. 2-ranked LSU smacked four home runs and rolled to an 8-0 win against Missouri on Saturday night at Taylor Stadium.

LSU third baseman Christian Ibarra smashed two home runs in the contest, tying Mason Katz for a game-high with three RBI, as the visiting Tigers scored all eight runs in the game's first five frames. Christian Ibarra and Alex Bregman also had homers for the winners.

Missouri got outhit by a slim 12-9 margin, but couldn't push any runs across. Kendall Keeton and Jake Ivory had two hits each to pace the offense.

Brett Graves (0-3) started and took the loss for Missouri, giving up three earned runs on five hits in four innings of work.

LSU improved to 25-2 overall and 7-1 in the Southeastern Conference, while Missouri dropped to 9-14 and 2-6).

The series finale between Missouri and LSU will take place at 1 p.m. today.
