Jays roll to 11-0 win

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The Jefferson City Jays improved to 4-0 on the season by ripping North Hills of Pittsburgh, Penn., by an 11-0 score Sunday.

Corey Beard and Adam Grunden combined on a four-hitter in the five-inning contest. Beard pitched the first three innings to get the win, giving up two hits while striking out three. Grunden pitched the final two and allowed two hits with one strikeout.

Hayden Strobel led the offensive onslaught by racking up three hits, three runs scored and four RBI.

Also for the Jays, Brenden Ogletree had two hits and two RBI, Steven Coots had two hits and one RBI and Travis Burris had one hit and one RBI.

Jefferson City will play John Burroughs at 8:45 a.m. today.
