Georgetown, Ky., wins NAIA title

KANSAS CITY - Monty Wilson scored 23 points while Vic Moses added 14 points and 13 rebounds to help Georgetown (Ky.) cruise to an 88-62 victory against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) in the finals of the NAIA Men's Basketball Championship on Tuesday night.

The 13th-seeded Tigers won the title for the first time since 1998. After needing a last-second shot by Wilson to win its semifinal Monday, Georgetown had no problem in the title game.

Georgetown (28-8) had a 28-point lead with just under 4 minutes remaining. The sixth-seeded Lions (33-5) only shot 29 percent from the field. Dominique Rambo led SAGU with 23 points.

Georgetown outrebounded SAGU 61-31 and shot 58 percent from the field.
