Not guilty verdict in JC murder trial May 6, 2016

JC speech, debate competes at MSHSAA tournament

The Jefferson City High School Speech and Debate Team recently competed at the MSHSAA district tournament.

Individual winners were: Paisley Groce, seventh place, original oratory; Radheya Naik, seventh place, international extemporaneous speaking; Adrien Zambrano, fourth place, humorous interpretation; and Adrien Zambrano and Sam Willoh, fifth place, duet acting.

The following students qualified for the state tournament in April: Gillian Mwangi, first place, dramatic interpretation (district champion); Raeshon Morris, second place, prose reading; Gillian Mwangi, second place, poetry reading; Suzie Nahach, fourth place, storytelling; Ahsen Kayani and Hughes Lee, second place, policy debate; Sam Krause, first place, Lincoln-Douglas Debate (district champion); Jacob Stoehr and Kaleb Stoehr, third place, policy debate.
