Thomas, Hudson combine on no-hitter as Missouri blanks Mississippi

OXFORD, Miss. - Chelsea Thomas and Nicole Hudson combined for a no-hitter as No. 8 Missouri drilled Mississippi 11-0 on Friday.

Hudson also went 2-for-2 with a home run at the plate.

Thomas hurled the first two innings and struck out four of the six batters she faced. Hudson tossed the final three innings and struck out four and walked one.

Missouri got all the scoring it needed in the top of the first when it brought two runs home on a wild pitch and a walk, both coming with the bases loaded.

The Tigers added four more runs in both the third and fourth innings.

Angela Randazzo stroked an RBI double, another run scored on an error and Corrin Genovese smacked a two-run double to make it 6-0 after the third.

Hudson smacked a run-scoring hit in the fourth and Randazzo later brought in two runs with a triple. Sarah Moore added an RBI single to make it 10-0.

Hudson then launched her eighth home run of the season in the fifth.

Missouri (13-2, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) and Mississippi (18-13, 1-3) resume their series today.
