Minor flooding along Mississippi River

ST. LOUIS (AP) - No major problems are expected but several Mississippi River towns in Missouri are under flood warnings.

The river is already flooding north of St. Louis in towns like Hannibal, Louisiana and Clarksville. It's expected to rise above flood stage at Cape Girardeau and other spots in southeast Missouri by the weekend.

Agricultural land and some roads are flooded or expected to flood, but no major problems are expected.

The flooding follows months of extraordinarily low water levels on the Mississippi, especially in the area from St. Louis to Cairo, Ill. The surge in the river came after recent snowstorms and the heavy rain over the past weekend.
