Your Opinion: Deciding what’s ‘fair and balanced’
Tuesday, March 12, 2013
Every time I hear “fair and balanced” after a news report I cringe.
It seems to me that biased journalists of any stripe report on and describe the world as they believe it ought to be; on the other hand, non-biased journalists report on and describe the world as it is.
I wish we had more of the latter because that professional approach allows me to reach my own conclusions free of ideological manipulation.
I don’t need to be told what’s “fair and balanced.” I’ll be the judge of that, thank you.
