Cause for Centurylink outage undetermined

The cause for an Internet sever outage early Tuesday for Centurylink customers is still undetermined.

According to company officials, planned maintenance on Internet traffic routing in Chicago occurred around 3 a.m.

Technicians cleared out of the area around 6 a.m. and at that time the problem occurred.

Parts of Missouri, including the Jefferson City area, Kansas and Texas experienced problems with websites loading or only sporadically loading.

The problem was fixed around 9:20 a.m.

Well that's a complete crock. The outtage started at 1:30 AM Central time and hit those sites (Like the News Tribune Website) that contained internet ads the hardest. Blog sites and news sites that are not linked to places such as adsense and others were loading normally. It also effected weather sites and video streaming sites like The Weather channel, YouTube and Netflicks.

Why is this news worthy when the Mediacom outage last month impacted far more people and was out much longer. Not a word about that. Why?
