Applications available for absentee ballots

Applications are now being accepted for absentee voting through April 1 for those wishing to vote in April municipal elections at the Cole County Clerk's Office.

Those who would like to make application for a family member in the armed forces, college or confined to the home due to illness or physical disability should do so, as soon as possible, so the ballots have ample time to get back to the office by April 2.

All ballots mailed out by the clerk must be received by 7 p.m. on election day.

The last day to mail out absentee ballots will be until 5 p.m. March 27.

The clerk's office will be open from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 14, for those wishing to vote absentee.

The deadline to cast an absentee ballot in the clerk's office will be 5 p.m. Monday, April 1.
