Teen injured in Jefferson City crash

A Jefferson City teenager was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision at 3:51 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of Christy Drive.

Officers arriving at the scene found Emily Beul, 17, unconscious and unresponsive inside the 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier she was driving. She was taken to Capital Region Medical Center and then transferred by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

Carter Roberts, 46, Jefferson City, told police that he was driving his Ford F150 pickup truck northbound on Christy Drive when the Cavalier pulled out from a parking lot into his path. He stated he attempted to steer clear and stop but was unable to avoid colliding with the car.
