Your Opinion: Patriotic voter ID law

Dear Editor:

By passing the photo voter ID law our Missouri House legislators have demonstrated their patriotic concern for protecting our democracy from fraudulent voting. They are to be commended.

However, they have overlooked another patriotic concern. Namely, the need to provide easy access to a government paid process that will make it possible for those citizens who are unable, either financially or physically, to get picture IDs.

Without this help our fair democratic voting system will be greatly flawed. I am sure the Missouri senators, who are equally patriotic, will want to correct this oversight. To do so will demonstrate their concern for the many grateful voters who then will be able to show their patriotism by voting.

Our beloved country needs all the patriotism its citizens can offer. A heartfelt thank you to our legislators for setting a good example.
