Fake Hermes handbags seized at ports

LOS ANGELES (AP) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have seized 1,500 counterfeit Hermes leather handbags at the Los Angeles-Long Beach port complex.

The customs agency says in a statement Tuesday that if the bags were genuine they would have had a total value in the millions of dollars.

The merchandise bearing fake Hermes trademarks arrived from China in two shipments that were seized in February.
