As meeting yields no breakthrough, Obama blames ‘dumb’ cuts on GOP.
That is the headline. What Obama continues to fail to recognize is that his opposition is not the GOP but rather the responsible conservatives who put the Republicans in Congress.
His plan was to use another crisis, this time contrived, to bully his agenda. It worked with the fiscal cliff, but not this time. He received very little support from the vast majority of Americans who are footing the bill.
These budget cuts are only a start. If America is ever to return to anything approaching a sound economic future, there must be more. They will affect us all, sometimes in painful ways.
