Your Opinion: Lied to about immigration

In 1986 Congress gave amnesty to illegal aliens. They promised us secure borders. They also told us that in the future immigration laws would be enforced. They lied to us. 

We now have at least 12 million illegal aliens in our nation. Every kid they have in our schools costs us around $7,500 per year. A family with four kids in school costs taxpayers $30,000 a year, just for schooling. I have no idea of how much it costs us to for other welfare benefits provided to illegals (emergency room health care, etc).  

Last year WTHR, an Indianapolis NBC TV station, aired a story revealing illegals are filing tax forms and applying for credits under the Additional Child Tax Credit. This tax credit gives filers a $1,000 per child credit. The NBC whistle blower showed the reporter a tax form that listed nine nieces and nephews, the filer received a $10,300 refund. Another form listed seven nieces and nephews, the filer received an $11,000 refund. There is much more to the story. You can read it at http://www.wthr.com/story/17798210/tax-loophole-costs-billions. The government is aware of the problem, they admit that it costs taxpayers about $4.2 billion per year. The IRS claims that it does not have the authority to verify the dependent claims being made on the illegals tax forms.

Those in D.C. are trying to come up with some way to jamb amnesty down our throats again. According to the government, in 2012, they caught 360,000 illegals trying to come across the border with Mexico. They believe this is proof of the great job they are doing. I could find no estimates of how many illegals they didn't catch. 

Those in D.C. also refuse to enforce the Constitution, by enforcing current immigration laws. To add insult to injury, if a state tries to get rid of illegals Obama and his justice department files lawsuits against that state.

D.C. politicians are again telling us that this time they are actually going to do something about border security, I don't believe them. Are you okay with hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens entering our nation every year?

Once the illegals are here, those in D.C. have already clearly shown that they won't be sent back.
