KINGSTON, Jamaica — Several former Lincoln Blue Tigers took part in the Jamaica national championships that wrapped up Sunday.
The best result in the four-day meet was turned in by Wilbert Walker, who won the triple jump with a leap of 53-9 3/4.
Roxroy Cato recorded a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, turning in a time of 49.76. That came on the heels of a 49.56 in the previous round, which was the fastest time in the prelims.
Dane Hyatt posted a mark of 46.43 in the 400-meter dash semifinals, but that was not good enough for him to advance to the finals.
Also failing to advance in their events were Kawayne Fisher, 19th in the 100-meter dash (10.31); Lerone Clarke, 21st in the 100-meter dash (10.34); and Kevaughn Hewitt, 36th in the 400-meter dash (49.88).
