A Barnett man sustained minor injuries Friday evening when he swerved off the road to avoid an animal and hit a tree on Route W, one mile south of Indian Creek Road in Morgan County.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, David Owen, 42, was traveling northbound around 6:45 p.m. on Route W and crossed the center line, hitting a tree on the left side of the road.

A Russellville teen is in fair condition at University Hospital with injuries sustained in an early morning accident Saturday in Cole County.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol Reports, Calvin Shelden, 18, was traveling northbound on Route B, a half mile north of Valley Road around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. He had two passengers in his 2005 Ford Focus: Austin Smith, 18, of Russellville, and Jayce Tschirgi, 17, of Lohman.
