A Mokane woman is being held on $50,000 bond in the Cole County Jail after being charged with trying to steal more than 150 items from a Walmart in Jefferson City.
Court records show Jessica Harris, 26, has a lengthy criminal history involving multiple stealing arrests and drug violations.
A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows Harris was walking out of the Walmart on Supercenter Drive late Monday night, pushing a cart full of items out a closed fire door and onto the parking lot. This set an alarm off in the store.
Harris had paid for three bottles of Pepsi and a bottle of water, but failed to pay for 156 other items. The total value of the items was more than $1,450.
Harris told police she thought her boyfriend had paid for the merchandise.
