Jefferson City’s Aaron Crane is a state champion. Just not in Missouri.

The Jefferson City Jay starred for his club team, Sporting Blue Valley NPL, helping it to win the Kansas State Cup for the U-17 age group June 2.

Crane tallied an assist in a tournament-opening 3-2 win against FC Porto of Kansas before scoring a goal and adding an assist in the second game, a 3-0 victory against Kansas Premier Soccer Futura FC French.

Sporting Blue Valley then beat Kansas Rush Wolves 1-0 in the semifinals before taking the title with another 1-0 victory, this time against Toca FC Boys U-17 MLS.

Crane’s team travels June 21-26 to Des Moines, Iowa to play at regionals.
