A Missouri Tiger is one step closer to reaching the major leagues.
Rob Zastryzny announced on his Twitter account he and the Cubs have reached an agreement on a contract reportedly worth a total of $1.1 million.
Zastryzny, a second-round selection, was the ace of Missouri's staff. The lefty finished with a 3.38 ERA but had just a 2-9 record as the Tigers gave him just 2.5 runs per game in his starts. He finished with a 3.34 ERA and 58 strikeouts during SEC play.
He had one year of college eligibility remaining had he chosen not to sign.
