Three Linn State Technical College students are facing criminal charges in connection with a string of vandalism cases in Osage County.
According to the Osage County Sheriff’s Department, Jacob Hellebush, 19, Marthasville, John McAuley, 21, Dearborn and Jack Brazil, 19, O’Fallon, were taken into custody after a high speed pursuit, Thursday.
All three have been charged with one count of felony theft.
Hellebush also is charged with resisting arrest, driving in a careless and imprudent manner and being a minor visibly intoxicated.
An Osage County deputy located the three suspects stealing thousands of dollars of road signs and busting hundreds of dollars of mail boxes in the area of Osage County Road 810 and Route RA.
A pursuit ensued and ended with the vehicle the three were in crashing.
Sheriff Michael Dixon said a large amount of vandalism and sign thefts had been reported, located, seized, and prosecuted in the past in the area around Linn Tech.
He said his office will be deploying covert stealth cameras to continue to pursue young adults who violate the laws.
