Second man charged in home invasion

Another Jefferson City man has been charged in connection with a home invasion in Cole County on Monday night.

Kendrick Warren, 23, of 3815 Candlelight Drive, has been charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and resisting arrest.

Earlier, Byron Davis, 19, of 300 W. Ashley St., was also charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and resisting arrest in the case.

Authorities said the incident occurred at 5209 Collier Court when a group of black males forced their way into an apartment, armed with a handgun and a hammer, and forced residents to lie on the floor.

One victim was struck in the head with a handgun while lying on the ground.

The suspects left the apartment, taking with them cash and several electronic devices.

They fled in a vehicle and eventually were caught after crashing at Route C and Hemstreet Road.

When questioned by authorities, Warren admitted his involvement in the incident, authorities said. He said he didn't carry a weapon, but did carry property out of the apartment.
